Great to meet you!
I am A Licensed Social Worker/Therapist, whose passion is working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. My experience is rooted in the well-being of children and families having experience working in the public school system for the past 3 years as a Child Study Team Social Worker, and previously at the YMCA Children and Family Transitional Shelter.
My Approach to Therapy
Understanding that an individual in most circumstances has to function within a family unit allows me to assess their challenges from an individual, environmental and Family interdependent perspective. Using Family Systems theory, Child Development, Conflict Theory and other relevant evidence-based theories can uncover the understanding of individuals’ thoughts and behaviors. Family System evidence-based theories allow me to practice from an eclectic (diverse) approach in dealing with a micro, meso, and macrosystem of individuals.
What can you expect from your first session:
My client will receive warmth, confidentiality and safety that is so deserving during challenging times. My career is rooted in 8 years of studies at Rutgers University (Newark/New Brunswick) in Community and Clinical Social Work based on respect for the inherent worth and dignity of human beings, serving people in need and working to address social and mental health problems.
