About Me

Great to meet you!

About me:

I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Rutgers University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. With over 3 years of experience in the mental health field, I have developed skills suited for working with clients of all backgrounds, but I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD.I work from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral framework and use different approaches, such as dialectical behavioral, mindfulness, solution-focused, and relaxation techniques. I am compassionate, nonjudgmental, warm, and supportive person and hope to tailor therapy according to each individuals needs. As your therapist, I'll provide a safe and supportive space for you to embark on your therapy journey. Whether it's to discover your authentic self, improve emotion regulation, or working through trauma. Together, we will create goals to empower you in challenging your negative thoughts or patterns that have prevented you from thriving in life.

My approach to therapy:

Together, we leverage what works.  My clients say I’m easy to talk to because I’m real with them.  I am not the kind of therapist who sits silently in my chair. I am  engaged.  I listen and I reflect back. I will ask questions and offer interpretations. I work with you to identify limiting beliefs and offer “reframes” for habitual thinking patterns. Sometimes I will challenge your thoughts if I think they are harming you. That said,  you are the expert on your life. I get to know you so I can offer support where you want it.

What to expect from first session:

The purpose of the first session is to help you and your therapist get to know each other and decide if you think the relationship is a good fit. While it can often be nerve-wracking to sit down with someone new, it’s an important step on the process toward mental well-being.
