Great to meet you!
About me:
I am a Licensed Social Worker and Certified Level 1 SFBT Therapist in New Jersey with over ten years of professional experience. I have worked in community-based programs and have provided services to those
who are justice-involved. I hold a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, a Bachelor's in Psychology, and a Bachelor's in Law & Justice from Rowan University. My career reflects a strong dedication to helping individuals of all ages navigate challenges and grow into their best selves. With a diverse background in both education and
experience, I take a comprehensive, person-centered approach to counseling. I believe in the power of collaboration and empowerment in the therapeutic process to support meaningful change.
My approach to therapy:
As a Certified Level 1 Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) therapist, my approach is grounded in the principles of SFBT, a short-term, goal-oriented therapy that emphasizes creating solutions rather than dwelling on problems. SFBT focuses on helping clients identify their strengths and resources to move forward, promoting positive change in a collaborative and practical way. In addition to SFBT, I integrate CBT and DBT-informed techniques to support emotional
regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. I prioritize a person-centered, collaborative approach that encourages clients to actively engage in their healing journey. My aim is to equip clients with practical, solution-focused tools that foster personal growth, resilience, and lasting positive change within a supportive, empowering environment.
What to expect from first session:
In the first therapy session, you can expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere designed to help you feel comfortable. We'll start by getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. We'll review confidentiality, future session structure, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions about the therapeutic process. The first session primarily focuses on building rapport, setting expectations, and creating a safe, collaborative space for future work. By the end of the session, we'll understand how to proceed and develop a personalized plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
